Breaking Canadian Immigration Records
Canada’s new immigration targets have been announced. Canada’s Immigration Minister, Marco Mendicino, announced the new targets for Canadian permanent resident admissions between 2021-2023 – noting remarkable increases. Canada views immigration as an economic driver and a key strategy towards economic recovery. 60% will be geared toward economic immigrants – that is 232,500 Economic Class Immigrants.
What can we Expect in 2021?
- EXPRESS ENTRY: 108,500 New Canadian permanent residents to be accepted under the Express Entry programs as represented from the Federal High Skilled categories, including Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades and the Canadian Experience class. These are for applicants destined to provinces outside Quebec.
- ENTREPRENEURS: 1,000 New Canadian permanent residents from the Start Up Visa and Self-employed persons class. Immigrants account for 33% of all business owners with paid staff
- PNPs: 80,800 New Canadian permanent residents from the Provincial Nominee Programs. These programs, along with other regional streams, highlight Canada’s innovative and community-driven approaches to address regional and diverse needs across the country, from both a labour and demographic perspective.
This is *BIG* news in Canadian immigration because this signals Canada’s commitment to supporting high-skilled immigration into the country. The increased numbers also stem from the impact of Covid-19 on immigration processing applications and not meeting the targets for 2020. Canada needs to remain competitive and will only be able to do so with an aggressive program.
Are you ready to take advantage of Canada’s generous immigration policies?
Unlike many other nations, immigration is far from a polarizing issue. Canadians generally view immigration overall positively and are proud of their diverse country. Therefore, many political parties support immigration overall.
Tired of #greencard or seeking an alternative to the #H1Bvisa? Consider Canada and the immigration options — including Express Entry, Canada’s fast-track merit-based immigration program. If you’re eligible and score high enough on the ranking system, you can obtain Canadian permanent residence in approximately 4 to 6 months (pre-covid). Canadian permanent residents can become citizens in 3 out of 5 years of physical presence.
